Children’s Opera PINOCCHIO – Preparations underway for the Teatro del Lago’s next production

Inspired by the famous fairy-tale by the Italian writer Carlo Collodi, we undertake the adventure of presenting the first children’s opera produced by the Teatro del Lago, in a version steeped in the local tradition of Southern Chile.

The story has been set to music by the German composer Gloria Bruni, using a libretto by Ursel Scheffler – a story, and an opera, for people of all ages, ideally suited to introducing audiences of any age to the fascinating world of opera.

First of all, we have built a puppet theatre together with the artisan workshop Museo Taller (https://museotaller.cl), which will help us give performances at schools in Frutillar and the Los Lagos region and enable children aged 9 to 11 engage their imagination with the work Pinocchio. The project is designed for three years and is generously supported by the Colombian-Chilean highway company ISA Intervial  https://www.intervialchile.cl/. As part of the Teatro del Lago Spring Festival in November 2022, an entertaining and surprising evening will be dedicated to Pinocchio!
