Dr. Kurt Schwarz trained as a physician and later worked in the pharmaceutical industry before founding an investment company. He works as an investor and business angel and is a member of numerous political and cultural organizations. His family’s Schwarz Foundation supports international cultural projects such as the Samos Young Artists Festival on the eponymous Greek island. Kurt Schwarz spends part of the year in Argentina, which is how he came to know the Teatro del Lago in neighbouring Chile. Both the aesthetics of the theatre building and the overwhelming natural beauty of the surroundings impressed him profoundly. Apart from artistic quality, he also admires the way in which this theatre in southern Patagonia manages to send cultural impulses throughout the country and beyond Chile, especially for children and teenagers. His activism on behalf of the Teatro del Lago thus springs from utter conviction.
